The COVID spike protein and long COVID: A deeper dive and hope

Close-up of COVID-19 spike protein

Well… the COVID pandemic didn’t end. Either did the flu. Either did the “common cold”. Read on because they are all related!

Scientists, medical doctors, and alternative medicine doctors are engaged in research to find the cause of what is being called Long Covid; and for that matter, why flu vaccines don’t work (Well, if they did, why need them so often??). And… why is the “common cold” so common??

Read on—these all have something in common and help each other create a bigger infection.

Why isn’t your immune system working on your side to address these spike proteins??

Simply put, too many stressors and not enough genuine resources=building blocks. Let’s fix this!

Long COVID is a variety of symptoms in any combination or individually. These linger after being exposed to the COVID virus including the vaccine(s) that can cause sympoms.

General symptoms

    • Tiredness/ fatigue that interferes with daily life—wanting to just lie in bed
    • Symptoms that get worse after physical or mental effort
    • Fever (usually only when you’re fighting any virus)
    • In many, being more “cranky” or upset than you feel the situation diserves.

Respiratory and heart symptoms

    • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath (especially lying on your back at night—do you wake up needing deep breaths?)
    • Coughing
    • Chest pain
    • Fast-beating or pounding heart (also known as heart palpitations or arrythmia)

Neurological symptoms

    • Difficulty thinking or concentrating (sometimes referred to as “brain fog”)
    • Headaches
    • Sleep problems—especially at 2 AM or close
    • Dizziness when you stand up (lightheadedness)
    • Pins-and-needles feelings—especially in your legs, feet and arms, hands
    • Change in smell or taste
    • Depression or anxiety

Digestive Symptoms

    • Diarrhea that can often alternate with constipation
    • Stomach pain
    • Digestive discomforts

Other symptoms

    • Joint or muscle pain
    • Rash
    • Changes in menstrual cycles
    • Lowered libido
    • Reduced male fertility

Hard to explain and manage, they are usually misdiagnosed as isolated symptoms rather than a pattern

The problem is that many things can cause the same symptoms. One must also look at an individual’s history to see what is stressing the immune system?

    • COVID-19 not fully handled by your immune system although your symptoms are gone
    • COVID RNA in cells is instructing them to make its spike protein?
    • Post Vaccine Response?
    • Some chemical added to the preserve or further activate the vaccine?
    • A microbiome imbalance that enhances the COVID infection? (Think antibiotics, pain medicines, inflammatory diet…)
    • Another co-infection?
    • Previous immune compromised situation?

Some people with Long COVID have symptoms that are hard to explain or difficult to manage. There is no laboratory test that can determine if your unexplained symptoms are due to Long COVID.

What’s causing persistent symptoms?? Residual virus is still there, residual COVID RNA is still there, either or both will create spike protein

The coronavirus has one very important component – a spike protein.  It’s the key player responsible for how the virus enters your body’s cells.

The persistent symptoms known as Long COVID can be the result of many factors:

    • persistence of the virus and/or its RNA to produce more spike protein and an immune system response
    • altered endothelial (blood vessels, cell membranes, skin, lung… function
    • unrepaired tissue damage
    • immune dysregulation, and/or
    • gut dysbiosis

The spike protein is like a tiny, spiky club on the surface of the virus. It attaches to proteins on your cells, most commonly the ACE-2–like a lock and key—proteins on the cell surface recognize and accept the spike protein from the virus and open the door so the virus can enter. Once it’s in, it tricks your cells into putting it’s own genetic information into yours.

Guess what, certain bacteria also have

Next is a hijacking.

Instead of performing the functions your cells should be doing, your heart, lungs, liver, immune system, more… all succumb. You are left with symptoms. The medical model uses prescriptions to numb the symptoms. The problem is that they don’t rebalance and resoolve the problem.

That’s where I come in. Find and Fix What’s Really Wrong

Let’s fix all—Enjoy your life again.

Worldwide there have been over 760 million confirmed coronavirus disease since 2019 (COVID-19) cases, and over 13 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered as of April 2023, according to the World Health Organization.

Did vaccinations solve it?? NO. If it did, we would still not be marketed to get flu vaccines or COVID boosters. Please see what the Centers for Disease Control said a decade ago. (they took her presentation down):

“We know the flu [influenza] vaccine is not effective. Still, we should promote that everyone get’s this vaccine.” –Janet Sheahy of the CDC

The current message:

Research in both Canada and the US indicates that getting the flu shot several years in a row may lessen the vaccine’s effectiveness.” –

The findings are also consistent with a 1999 observation of variable flu vaccine efficacy depending on immunization history” –Derek J. Smith, the current director, WHO Collaborating Centre for Modelling, Evolution and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

The Sars-COVID-19 vaccine was hastily pushed through approval steps. Many people received the vaccine and got COVID anyway. This is also true for all flu vaccines; the vaccine itself causes flu-like systems as your immune system responds, and Very immune-compromised individuals or those with:

  • Imbalanced gut microbiome (the garden in our gut—and most other parts of our bodies that act as our natural immune defense system, help), or enhanced “ACE2” receptors on lung and other cell types in the body.

What’s rarely being discussed is the “post-COVID-19 vaccination syndrome” or even post-acute COVID 19 Syndrome”.

Spike Proteins?

A recent study on Long Covid patients who have spike proteins in their blood suggests that some people with the condition never fully cleared the virus. Another study reported that the spike protein accumulates in the skull and brain of COVID patients—a possible explanation for persistent cognitive and mood changes.

These studies add to the growing literature supporting the observation that spike proteins persist in the body. At least some people who had Covid-19 and/or chose to receive the vaccine have spike proteins that can last for years if unaddressed.

Gut microbiome and other bacterial imbalances make the spike protein and COVID invasion worse! Important!!

Here’s how it works;

  1. Your immune system is compromised (think autoimmune, cancer, blood pressure medications, leaky gut especially—usually from dietary choices, poor sleep hygiene, more…) then you also have a bacterial imbalance.
  2. Various bacteria, especially e. coli, pseudomonas, and other disease-causing gut microbes all have proteins on their membranes that bind to the COVID spike protein., These microbes happily reproduce from cane, corn, agave sugars; cereal grains (wheat, corn, oats, rice, rye, barly, millet, sorghum) that also cause general inflammation and leaky gut by causing general inflammation.
  3. This also predisposes to seasonal flu symptoms.Next up is an invasion of the COVID and/or flu virus into resident (and unwanted) bacteria. Now you have coinfections: a virus reproducing (replicating) inside your cells and also replicating inside bacteria you wish you didn’t have.

You are also predisposed to get the seasonal flu.

In immune susceptible individuals the spike proteins produce the Long COVID symptoms.

These spike proteins tend to have an affinity for the brain and nervous system, the cardiovascular system, lungs, and kidneys.

While spike proteins are a common problem, chemicals added to vaccines to preserve or change how they work are also toxic.

Nutrition Response Testing evaluates 6 common environmental stressors that can prevent a body from healing: Food, toxic chemicals, metals, infections & co-infections, scars, and now COVID complcations.

Our latest research into “Long COVID” helped inform exactly which component of the COVID experience or vaccine was behind the Long COVID symptoms.

  • Residual COVID itself, we can handle that.
  • COVID (or any other) spike protein, we can address that.
  • If it’s viral particles from COVID or any other virus (Herpes, Flu…), we can detect an address.
  • Toxic compounds used to preserve or increase vaccine potency, we can handle that as well.

Each of these scenarios requires a different remedy. And it is all natural. I test every client for these possibilities as part of every routine visit.

In Functional Medicine, I use Nutrition Response Testing. and basic lab tests. Following all Nutrition response testing protocols, I am specifically trained to test and remedy. Whether it is a residual from the vaccine (common)  having COVID-29 (residuals) or something else…

Most people’s immune system recognizes the spike protein and deals with it, this is because other illnesses, such as the common cold, also have spike proteins. But immunocompromised  individuals don’t have systems that can do this.

The answer is not to further suppress symptoms. Let’s identify the nutritional support your body needs genuine building blocks to repair itself so you attain and maintain optimal balance and health.
